FAIRFAX, Va., August 1, 2011 — Argon ST today announced the United States Navy has exercised the contract option for production and delivery of Ship's Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Increment F systems. The award is for the first lot of full-rate production (FRP) systems and is valued at $35 million.
The SSEE Increment F systems acquire, identify, locate, and analyze signals for external and internal information. The award option marks the successful achievement of the FRP milestone decision resulting from extensive factory, test range, and operational testing of low-rate initial production (LRIP) systems. The program transitioned into the production and deployment phase in March 2010 and Argon has built, delivered, and tested LRIP systems over the past year.
"With the award of the SSEE Increment F FRP option, the program has achieved its next critical milestone. The U.S. Navy surface fleet currently has two Increment F systems installed, and they are demonstrating their operational utility and value in several test range and real world scenarios. We look forward to expanding this capability in the fleet," said Joe Carlin, vice president of Information Dominance for Argon ST.
Argon ST, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, designs, develops, and produces systems and sensors for the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) markets including Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Electronic Support Measures (ESM), Electronic Warfare (EW), Information Operations (IO), imaging, and acoustic systems serving domestic and international markets.
